Providing cutting edge solutions in temporary structure technology

Innovation. Reputation. Trust.

Repeat business gained from a professional approach from project inception to Final Account agreement. Partnering with Contractors to produce bespoke scaffold schedules and early design advice with a view to value engineering a scheme to a realistic budget.

Fully CISRS Trained Staff

Scheme (CISRS) has been the industry recognised scaffold training scheme for over 40 years. It is the preferred scaffolding qualification of all the major organisations including CSCS, NASC, Build UK, UNITE and the largest scaffold systems manufacturers. The scheme, has 65,000+ CISRS card holders in the UK.

In House Design Department

The design team will discuss your project and ensure that the scaffolding design is planned with your exact needs in mind. All Scaffolding designs comply with  NASC Technical Guidance TG20 and are supported with bespoke calculations to ensure adequate strength, rigidity and stability while erected.

Full Members Of The NASC

The NASC is the national trade body for access and scaffolding in the UK – established 1945 and now serving a family of 300+ leading contracting firms, scaffolding suppliers and manufacturers and offers both technical and Health & Safety support to its members.

What We Do

JDC Scaffolding are a North London based scaffolding company who cover London & the Home Counties on projects up to 5 million. We are also willing to travel further afield if the size of the project is economically viable. We have previously completed works in Southampton, Aylesbury & Reading.

We provide scaffolding & hoists and are approved installers of the Hakitec 750 rolling roof system. We are full members of the NASC and our CISRS trained operatives and staff work strictly within their safety parameters. We have our in house design department supporting our contracts team with the ability to produce drawings in a more timely fashion than an outsourced arrangement.

The company’s commercial transport fleet is based at our depot and are all fully compliant with the low emissions law and are FORS (Silver) accredited. Other certifications: Certified Quality Systems – (Non UKAS) BS EN ISO 9001

JDC Designers and Management Team have interfaced well with the DBR and Clients Design Team throughout the project to develop a scaffold that delivers access to all the areas we required to carry out the required restoration and conservation works. JDC managed to develop a design that met DBR needs and minimised the need to carry out adaptions throughout the construction phase.

JDC have a wealth of experience and knowledge which puts them in good stead to generate solutions to design problems. They have an in-house design team lead by Adam Callow and they partner with various engineering companies that provide the expertise in overcoming design hurdles. West Smithfield has been particularly complicated with design loading constraints that have occasionally thrown up problems at site level requiring rapid response to design solutions to avoid project delays. JDC have been committed to overcoming these throughout.

Case Study – Barkers, Kensington High Street

JDC Scaffolding And UKSSH Look Smart In Kensington

Working closely with UK System Scaffold Hire, JDC Scaffolding developed an innovative gantry design which used HAKI Tripods to minimise disruption in Kensington High Street.

Even with the reduced footfall and lower traffic levels created by Covid-19, scaffolding an iconic building in Kensington High Street poses major challenges, including the need to minimise impact on pedestrian traffic and the requirement

to ensure that store windows and access routes are not obstructed, not to mention the fact that the scaffold has to be erected during night-time possessions.

JDC Scaffolding were responsible for erecting scaffold on what was formerly Barkers Department store – one of the most iconic buildings in the Kensington Square Conservation Area. Contracted by PAYE Stonework and Restoration Ltd who
were undertaking extensive refurbishment of the spectacular Grade II* listed Art Deco façade, JDC Scaffolding knew exactly how to fulfil the brief.

Working closely with UK System Scaffold Hire, JDC Scaffolding developed an innovative gantry design which used HAKI Tripods to span over the existing lightweight canopy and support double width access scaffold above.

Tripods Helped Achieved Huge Time Savings

Each single tripod could carry a permissible load of 60Kn which reduced enormously the amount of scaffolding that had to be used at street level: This had multiple benefits as Adam Callow, Design Manager at JDC Scaffolding explains: “Using the HAKI Tripods helped us to achieve huge time savings compared with using tube and fittings.

It also enabled the pavement to be kept open throughout the project (even allowing the free movement of mobility scooters) and also provided clear visibility of display windows while work was progressing”.

Adam also praised UK System Scaffold Hire’s approach to the project: “UKSSH were fully
on board with the project from day one: They understood the requirements from a technical perspective, they responded to our needs for accurate and on time delivery to comply with our night-time possessions and they integrated their skill sets with our overall design which involved utilising tube and fittings once the 10 metre high Tripod element had provided the foundation for a working gantry above the building’s decorative canopy. The result is a project that we can all be proud of ”.
