KICKSTART Scheme

We currently are working in conjunction with the NASC on the kickstart scheme.

The kickstart scheme provides pre-apprentice placements for young people 16-24 who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.

Walsall Works | Kickstart Scheme

KICKSTART Training

Your training will begin at our yard, based at Hoddesdon. You will be taught manual handling, health and safety rules, basic scaffolding knowledge, including identifying and servicing equipment.

Once competency levels are met (identified through an internal assessment process), Manual Handling and COTS Training have been completed, a CISRS card will be applied for and you will continue your training out on site.

On site, you’ll begin by loading out Scaffolding materials, as your confidence and knowledge improves you will be given more responsibilities, learning the skills to become a qualified Scaffolder.

It’s important to remember before applying for this role, that being a scaffolder is a physically demanding job which has to be done in all weather conditions, so we’re looking for people who enjoy working hard, work well in a team and have a positive and respectful attitude come rain or shine!
