DBR Ltd

Project: Liberty, London

JDC have interfaced well with DBR throughout the pre-construction and construction phase of the Liberty Project. Working closely with DBR’s and the Client-side Structural engineers.

The JDC Manager has worked with DBR Management team on daily and look ahead task with a heavy focus on avoid disruption to the Liberty store.

During the design phase for the Great Marlborough Street Elevation, we came across a big design issue in relation to the back propping of the front elevation main scaffold. A solution had to be developed to enable the scaffold to front scaffold but also avoid impacting on the store trading. Working closely with the Liberty’s and DBR, JDC came up with a solution to meet the design and Client’s needs.

JDC Designers and Management Team have interfaced well with the DBR and Clients Design Team throughout the project to develop a scaffold that delivers access to all the areas we required to carry out the required restoration and conservation works. JDC managed to develop a design that met DBR needs and minimised the need to carry out adaptions throughout the Construction Phase.

JDC managed to develop a design that reduced the project risks and hazards during the build and strike phase but also designed in protection fans and other safety measures into the design to give DBR protection while the restorations works took place.

During the project one main areas of innovation was the front elevation wrap that used the latest technology to ensure the best print and installation quality for the Client.

JDC also used all the latest materials and delivery vehicles throughout the project to achieve the highest standard of delivery.

DBR were drawn to JDC at tender evaluation stages as they could deliver bother the scaffolding and the wrap package. DBR wanted to ensure that the interface between these two packages was managed by one contractor to ensure the neatness and tidiness was achieved to the front wrap as this was a key project goal from the Client. This was achieved and the Clients goal met.

The scaffolding itself was built to a high standard, all snagging requested was carried out by JDC before the scaffold was handed over to DBR.

Working closely with JDC throughout the design phase we ensured that the scaffolding was designed in a way to ensure the budget was adhered too.

More recently with the Covid-19 pandemic JDC have been very commercially fair to the Client when some of the internal scaffold had to remain up for longer due to delays from the pandemic. This was received well by the Client and DBR and shows the team work within the project teams.
