PAYE Stonework

Project: Barkers of Kensington

The works were carried out during the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic and JDC worked alongside PAYE to ensure that their SSOW adhered to current Government Guidance, always, and that the site pedestrian traffic routes had adequate space to ensure Social Distancing could be observed whilst work was carried out.

The use of the HAKI tripod at low level ensured the smallest footprint of scaffolding possible to all of the retail units. This ensured that the client’s commercial tenants were able to continue trading almost unimpeded by the scaffolding configuration to their shopfronts.

JDC have been receptive to change and have facilitated the development of designs in particular the arrangement of the HAKI tripod gantry system and beamed supports above. This has enabled PAYE to reschedule works during the Construction Phase resulting in programme savings.

JDC worked alongside PAYE, the clients’ representatives and the stakeholders and updated them on the proposed design during development to ensure that the proposed works were fully understood and any visual/aesthetic impact was clearly explained. JDC took on board any queries to ensure the final scaffolding solution suited all parties.

The Haki tripod system has allowed works to continue above the existing canopy and the shops below to remain open without little or no disruption to trading.

The SSOW developed for installation of the HAKI tripods, outside normal working hours, utilising JDC lorry mounted HIAB cranes ensured that the gantry could be safely erected and in a timely manner with hugely reduced disruption to the surrounding stores compared to a more traditional scaffolding solution.
